Men’s Ice Hockey Coaching Staff

Phil Bateman – Head Coach
Coach Bateman enters into his fifth season as the acting head coach for the Aztecs men’s ice hockey program. Coach enters into his 28th season of coaching ice hockey at a number of high levels including; NCAA, ACHA, Professional, Juniors, Club AAA, and Varsity High School.
Coaching Achievements:
1 Current Hobey Baker Nominee (Ferris State 20’)
7 Olympic Goal medal-winning athletes
3 Olympic Silver medal-winning athletes
4 Current Professional Ice Hockey players
9 NCAA Division I, III players advanced.
Merrimack Valley All-Conference Division II 2007, 2008, coach of the year.

Clark Oliver – Assistant Coach
Coach Oliver enters into his fifth season as the acting assistant coach for the Aztecs men’s ice hockey program. Coach enters into his 8th season of coaching ice hockey from Youth hockey to Collegiate Club.
Hockey Achievements:
Drafted Waterloo Blackhawks USHL
NCAA DIII – Wisconsin River Falls
USA Hockey level 4 certified coach.
